DIGITAL PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION ACT (DPDP Act), 2023 is effective from 13th November 2025. DPDP Act will be implement in 3 phases and will fully enforceable starting 13 May, 2027.
Full substantive compliance takes effect, activating all major obligations regarding notice, consent, data principal rights, and mandatory breach reporting with zero grace period.
There are provisions for huge penalty up to INR 250 Crore for non-compliance.
Now 9 months are in hand, so it is time to be prepared for implementation of DPDP Act and software handling data of employees, customers and vendors should be ready in compliance with DPDP Act, 2023
